Dr. Burte is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice for twenty-five years in New York City and Boca Raton. He is on the staff of the Pain Center at Boca Raton Community Hospital. Dr. Burte brings to the care of his patients his extensive knowledge of psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, clinical sports psychology, psychoneuroimmunology and pain management techniques.
Dr. Burte lectures nationally and internationally and has authored articles and book chapters on hypnosis and psychotherapy in the treatment of emotional difficulties, performance issues,couple/marital, child and family problems, sexual dysfunctions, medical disorders,and acute and chronic pain.
After fifteen years as Director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Hypnosis on Long Island, NY and a professor at Long Island University, he is currently the Executive Director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Southeast Florida. He is also an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Burte holds a Post Doctoral Masters in Clinical Psychopharmacology, is a Diplomate with the American Academy of Pain Management, is a Certified Clinical Consultant in Hypnosis through the ASCH and is a Certified Sex Therapist with AASECT.
In his clinical sports psychology practice, Dr. Burte works closely with Johnny Rodriguez, a Florida Marlins minor league hitting instructor, who is involved in the Marlins' infield, outfield and catching instruction. Coach Rodriguez has coached with the University of Miami Hurricanes, was a New York Yankees major league staff member and scouted for the Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros and New York Mets.
